Museum-Apartment of Hero of the Soviet Union Z.M. Tusnolobova-Marchenko

Initiated by Polotsk City Executive Committee and belarussian writer V. Lipsky, Museum-Apartment of Hero of the Soviet Union Z. M. Tusnolobova-Marchenko opened its doors to visitors on July 3rd in 1987 in one of the rooms in the house she used to live in.

Staff researchers: 1987-2001 — Tochilo N. V., from 2001 — Zhernosek G. A. Museum exhibition contains 165 items, 110 of them are from the main museum collection. The exhibit space is 145 m 2. Exposition illuminates the childhood and juvenility of Z. M. Tusnolobova-Marchenko, her participation in the battles of the Great Patriotic War, medical treatment in the hospital № 3861; it shows her family life and social work. Among exhibits there are documents, photos, personal belongings and awards of Z. M. Tusnolobova-Marchenko. The most precious of the awards is platinum Florence Nightingale Medal, awarded by International Red Cross. Z. M. Tusnolobova-Marchenko is one of the three women from The Soviet Union, awarded with this medal.
